- Morzine is a thriving Alpine village in the French Chablais mountain range between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, very close to the Swiss border. Part of the larger Portes du Soleil ski area, Morzine is linked by lift and cable car. The Portes du Soleil is one of the biggest ski areas in the world.
- Morzine and the connected resort of Les Gets have a combined 120km of pistes accessed by 26 chairlifts, 3 cable cars and 14 drag lifts. There are 5 green runs, 29 blue, 28 red, and a total of 9 black runs so Morzine offers something for all levels of skier. The Portes du Soleil encompasses the French ski resorts of Abondance, Chatel, Les Gets, Montriond, Avoriaz, and St Jean d’Aulps as well as six Swiss ski resorts.
- Morzine offers a wide variety of restaurants and plenty of apres-ski and party nightlife. The mid-afternoon apres-ski is popular at Inferno and Le Tramplin. Bar Robinsons or ‘Robbos’ is always popular serving ‘Mutzig’ on tap, a famous strong beer from Alsace. For the night owls, The Tibetan Cafe has an interesting vibe and Le Coyote Bar and Le Cavern are both very popular.
- Morzine has a busy Winter calendar. The Rock des Pistes week in March is popular with plenty of bands and concerts playing on the pistes. There are the French traditional markets and Morzine celebrates Australia Day and St Patricks Day.
